Paula and Karlo enjoy goth music and consider themselves a part of the goth subculture, but not necessarily Goths. They also consider this song to be a Gothic dance song. Since goth lyrics often deal with dark, sorrowful themes, Karlo, who found himself incapable of writing about such subjects, thus sought the help of an AI. He taught the AI about goth poetry, feeding it some of the well-known goth lyrics he found interesting - and then made the AI generate some of its own! Pages of random AI-generated gothic nonsense were later carefully filtered (the best parts were isolated) and then rearranged in order for the words to rhyme. The final product, despite having no sense or purpose, resembles an authentic goth poem.
Paula and Karlo are extremely satisfied with the result.
lyrics
Tidal waves drown everyone inland
Beyond the ancient grave
In a lost land amidst sea springs of dark matter
Their souls cry and wail
The great tide echoes across the world
In the name of our love
My voice is broken so weak it can neither grow nor shrivel
Just mutter in the flood
She gives off an appearance of a swollen sophisticate
I'm getting the taste of this
Tears get heavier, I fill pages completely
Tearing leaf after leaf
I've seen that face before in splashes of black fog
Out in the river of thorns
Out in the open, out in the waters
In the bloody tracks upon the shore
Pools of living, as they are conceived
When they pass into their graves
Their bodies fall in a furnace of their angst
And their hearts suffer in pain
With weakness in their souls
In the midst of the heaven's bloodthirsty flames
The vapour of death will be consumed by their soul-laden bodies
As they turn into clay
